Gift Certificates Fund Raising

As we are all aware, Clubs like ours, take money to run, these funds come from fees and from fund raising events that the families do. We have a unique program call Dollars For Skiing/Snowboarding (DFS). As an organization, we will be able to purchase gift cards from various merchants at a small discount. You, as a member, can purchase these cards at face value and the discount is applied to your family account. We have over 40 merchants; companies like: Home Hardware, Home Depot, Moxie’s, Starbucks, The Bay (Zellers), Canadian Tire, and the best part: Groceries – Sobeys, Superstore, and for a limited time Safeway. How does it work?

The club is able to purchase gift cards from these merchants at a discount – 2% – 15%. You, as a member, purchase these cards at face value, the difference (our club discount to the face value) goes into your family account. Funds in the family account can then be applied to any club activity – from fees to Mountain Trips.

We keep a small administration fee (10%) to cover costs that the program has (bank fees, cheques, shipping, etc).

You get the cards by ordering them from Debbie Poulton. You can do this with a phone call (545-2976) or an email debbie.poulton@sasktel.net (email is preferred, as gives us a paper trail).

Take a look at our merchant list (above) and choose what you want from that list. You can see the discount (profit) that you will make off this list. Place the order with Deb by Sunday Night. She compiles all the orders from all the families and places an order with our suppliers Monday morning. On Thursday, we get the cards and by Thursday night they are ready for pickup.

So, all it takes is you to determine what cards you need, place an order with Deb, pick them up and put some cash into your family account. We’ve had families that have raised over $1,000.00, so this can be a good fund raising program.
